Asmodee and Source Point Press reveal legends of the five rings Mysterium and Pandemic Comics
Soon, some of your favorite board games will come to the world of comics thanks to Asmodee Entertainment and Source Point Press. The two companies have started an association that will have Source Press Press publishing comics from some of Asmodee’s most popular franchises, and the new agreement begins with three new titles. Those include legenda of the Five Rings, Pandemia, and MYSTERIUM, and the three new comics will be launched in 2022, with the distribution by Diamond Comic Distributors, Simon & Schuster, and other selected distributors (through ICV2). The three titles are based on the best selling, and it is easy to imagine that if they go well, more comic adaptations will follow their example in the future.
The president of Source Point Press, Jacob Way, is honored to be able to adapt pandemic IP to the narration of comics, and pointed out how powerful the elements of the game are.
This is the first time in modern history that the world has been connected by a shared experience, Way said. This experience has united people to fight for a common good, and that level of cooperation and hope is what makes Pandemic a game so powerful for so many people. We are honored to tell such an impressive story with one of the best-known IPs of board games that exist.
The Licenses Manager of Publications and Consumer Goods of Asmodee, Alexander Thieme, talked about how the Kingdom of Comics allows players to immerse themselves in the stories and worlds that you already love, as well as how new comics can attract players and No players
Many fans are regularly submerged in these three game universes, sharing their experiences with friends and family playing together both virtually and around the kitchen table, said Thieme. For many, immersing yourself in the stories they experience becomes an important element in their social life. Allow them through the comics to immerseve more deeply in the incredible stories that play at the table will not only be entertaining, but will also enrich the game experience itself. On the other hand, comic book fans will soon be able to discover wealth, drama and mystery that each of these game universes own and that, until recently, were limited to games themselves.
Asmodee also houses franchises such as Descent, Arkham Horror, Marvel: Crisis Protocol, Marvel Champions and Keyforge, so who knows if they will also make comics jump.
